On April 3rd, 2019, 10 seniors and their mentors in the Concept Young Scholars Program (CYSP) from HSA Columbus high school took a day out of their spring break to visit the Concept Schools Central Office in Schaumburg, IL. Mr. Sedat Duman, President & CEO, gave them a personal tour of the departments and gave a presentation on how Concept came to fruition. Future Institute also gave a presentation on how its programs can support and benefit them in their post-high school endeavors.
Below are two of the students’ reflections on their visit:
“Firstly, I would like to say thank you so much to Concept Schools for providing our Columbus High School seniors to come and visit their office and for taking their time to greet us. All of the staff was very friendly, informative and we had the honor to get a nice tour by Mr. Duman, the CEO, himself. They also told us of the opportunities they provide for students and I do hope to see more of these opportunities open doors for other kids like me.” – Martha Cibasu, ’19
“Today was a nice experience to know more about the “behind the scenes.” To know the history of Concept Schools really gave me an insight of something great. But I love the idea of the Future Institute. I feel like it would be extremely beneficial to students, which I hope to take advantage of.” – Alan Salgado-Sanchez, ’19
