On September 17th, 23rd, 30th and October 1st, Future Institute conducted meetings on Zoom with at least 83 parents and seniors, collectively, from 12 Concept Network high schools to introduce them to the Future Legacies and Future Leaders Initiative (FLI) programs. High school seniors in the CYSP program (gold level) are eligible to participate in the Future Legacies program, which aids in their transition from high school into college or career degree programs. Future Legacies is a prerequisite for the FLI program, a college and career training success program offered post-high school. The deadline to sign up for Future Legacies this year is approaching quickly in October. Assistance in Spanish was also available on the presentation and to answer questions.
Future Institute Board Members Miguel Alba, Dan Laughlin, and Bob Figuly gave their support to the organization and program at these parent-senior meetings as well. Additionally, on September 30th and October 1st, representatives from the ICATT Apprenticeship Program gave a presentation after the conclusion of the Future Institute session to seniors interested in pursuing an alternative option to a four-year degree.
