You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, during which you can save a lot of money on big ticket items, are these days really in the spirit of the holidays and Thanksgiving? That’s why we’re trying to make Giving Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 a bigger deal than the other consumer-driven holidays. Future Institute is offering opportunities to give back to your community by giving your time, your advice, or your donations for college students in need.
If you’d like to participate in Future Institute’s #GivingTuesday campaign, you can do so in the following ways:
The Future Institute Road-to-Success Mentorship (FIRM) Program needs mentors from all types of professions! As a mentor, you can play a significant role in guiding college students through their college experiences and into their careers. Most of the college students in the FIRM program are first generation college students and studies show that of these students who have a mentor are 10-15% more likely to advance to another year of college. Because Future Institute’s mission is to promote Concept Schools graduates’ high school-to-college transition, college persistence, and career readiness by means of innovative, research-informed programs, we need the your help! Currently, we have over 4,000 high school graduates from seven states and a portion of those are college graduates in need of internships and jobs. Check out where we serve students by clicking the button below.
For each year that a student participates in Future Institute programs like our mentorship program (FIRM), they earn a $1000 scholarship that goes directly to their college’s financial aid office. Due to the high cost of college tuition, we do all that we can to help our students persist through college, but our sponsors are a large part of how we support our students. Even if you can sponsor half a student’s scholarship for one year, any donation helps immensely!
